
Senior Data Scientist - Analytical Data Product (Short Term)

Our team covers the full spectrum of the data lifecycle: analytical data engineering, product analytics, experimentation, and machine learning.
WHY ANALYTICAL DATA PRODUCT FOR SOCIAL DSA?
As an Analytical Data Product Scientist , you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of our data assets. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to design and build best-in-class analytical data products. This role is at the intersection of data engineering and product strategy; you will not only build scalable data systems but also ensure they are optimized for discovery, usability, and actionable insights across the organization.
This position is a 12-month temporary role based in our San Mateo HQ office, eligible for overtime pay.
You Will:
- Analytical Product Ownership: Design and develop "data-as-a-product" solutions, including foundational datasets and self-service analytics tools that empower product teams.
- Scalable Data Pipelines: Own the development of robust, scalable ETL pipelines that transform raw events into clean, high-fidelity aggregates.
- Telemetry Product Design: Lead the design of logging and telemetry frameworks for new product launches, ensuring data quality is "built-in" rather than "bolted-on."
- Infrastructure & Optimization: Optimize existing data ecosystems into consumable products, reducing latency and increasing the reliability of reporting and research.
- Insight Delivery: Conduct ad-hoc exploratory analysis and create world-class visualizations that translate complex datasets into clear product narratives.
You Have:
- An advanced or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering, analytical engineering or similar role.
- Strong data engineering skills, including experience with large datasets, telemetry logging, and data pipeline development.
- Strong communication, good judgment, growth mindset to solve new and unique challenges with high independence.
- Experience with metric design, data visualization, including dashboard design and implementation, social product and gaming industry is a plus.
